Spade Racing Opens Classic “Blaster Boxes” and Premiere Sets

Recently I acquired a collection of Nascar cards from the past thirty years.  Most of it was unopened “Blaster Boxes” (those things you see near checkout at big box stores) as well as a few early-90’s “Premiere Sets”.  Lets open them and see what’s inside!

Skybox Premiere Part 1—The King’s team, Lake’s dream, and variations on a theme

FIRST LOOK: There’s…not that much variety to start in this set, as we get some pretty standard car shots (example pictured: Wally Dallenbach Jr. cosplaying as a southerner).  And while the bigger-than-usual card size allows for more detail, you just KNOW everyone hated having to try and protect these things.

TO THE BACK: This card reminds us of three things—Lake beat Ayrton Senna in karting, he has one more Cup win than 99.99% of the world’s population, and he kinda-sorta looks like John DuPont.

SAY WHAT: “Look, I don’t care if the Goodyear decal is rubbed-off, just take the damn picture and get the hell away from my car."

RATING: 3 rookie of the year contenders out of 10
