Every year Hollywood comes out with hundreds of movies. Some of them have a Nascar connection. Here’s a look at what movies YOU should have a look at over the next few weeks:
Long Shot: Though it stars Ricky Stenhouse Jr., its not about his attempts to win somewhere besides Daytona or Talladega—instead its about his attempts to pass teammate Ryan Newman clean on the track.
The Intruder: In this documentary I chronicle my attempts to “shadow run” the Boston Marathon with Jimmie Johnson as an official competitor. Includes five minutes of running followed by 90 minutes of me being resuscitated.
The Hustle: The Angela’s Motorsports story is retold on the big screen. Tagline: Harkness? Hark THIS!
Poms: A whimsical tale about a group of Nascar fans who try to establish an official cheerleading squad for their favorite drivers. Never before has the phrase “I can’t hear you!” been so accurate.
The Sun Is Also a Star: Shows the incredible lengths track owners go to to please the weather gods in exchange for a sunny race day.
The Souvenir: In an epic adventure spanning many years, collectors try to find the rarest collectable of all—a diecast actually worth something in 2019.
Booksmart: In which people who are smart buy my book at www.100whatifs.com. (Sorry).
