Ah, Kansas—a state, a band, and a track. And while I don’t have much to say about the American prog rock group, the state has been in the news a bit lately with the whole “luring the Chiefs and Royals across state lines” attempt.
Now, this may come as a surprise to some of you, but despite being a lifelong sports fan, I do not support cities and states giving out hundreds of millions of dollars to build stadiums and arenas. The way I see it, if you can’t win because you “don’t have a nice enough home field/court/rink”, maybe you’re just not that great of a team owner to begin with.
Heck—if it were up to me, one cent of every dollar bet on a team would go towards the team specifically for facility construction. That way the only money going towards them is from (in theory) their fans. But what would a retail assistant manager know?
