Uncle Max vs. Repeat Winners: Phoenix

Finally, a win!

Even more impressive it was a Dark Horse pick—my first Dark Horse to come through in over a year!  For those of you wondering a “Dark Horse” is someone not expected to win—so basically any driver who hasn’t won yet outside of fuel milage or a plate track who also isn’t a championship contender.  Of course this puts Larson squarely in the “contender” category so he’s no longer eligible for Dark Horse consideration.

Speaking of which there’s been four Dark Horse-worthy winners so far this year.  At this rate I’ll be picking Anthony Alfredo or James Davison for the ROVAL race!

Outside of Nascar I’m getting ready for two big events at work—inventory (dun dun DUNNN) and my own little informal March Madness pool.  I convinced (well, badgered) one of the big bosses to let me do it for no money with nothing but bragging rights on the line.  Ya gotta make do!

TRUCK SERIES off

Saturday Evening XFINITY SERIES 811 200: Daniel Hemric—from the pole in a 200 lap race—although a 811 lapper would be interesting(ly dull).

Sunday Afternoon CUP SERIES Instacart 500(k). Repeat winner—Kyle Larson. FAVORITE: Kevin Harvick—just too hard to pick against him at Phoenix—especially with a legit shot at a repeat winner. NEXT FAVORITE: Brad Keselowski—two wins from the pole in a single weekend? DARK HORSE (1 win): Austin Dillon—again, the Chevy’s are looking stout this year.
